I am a scientist and a problem solver.

I have always been interested in how things work and inventing tools and machines that are cool, fun, or make life easier! Naturally this curiosity drew me to science and then to proteins and enzymes, the molecular machines of the cell, and to structural biology, the study of how these molecular machines work.

Other fascinations include engineering designer proteins and organisms that will help solve the world’s problems. Including treating diseases or creating new ways to clean up the trash and waste that our progress generates.

Along the way I am always trying to think of ways to work smarter and accomplish more with less effort or resources. I particularly love making stuff. I love inventing devices that accomplish a mundane task with less work or less waste. Please look around my site and explore some of my creations!
